The Inner City Ensemble will present Where Have You Gone, Trayvon? – a Dance Theater Response, written and choreographed by Juilliard graduate and Fulbright Scholar, Nicholas Rodriguez, in partnership with the dance department at Rosa L. Parks School of Fine & Performing Arts. The project is made possible through a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts ArtWorks grant. Where Have You Gone, Trayvon? incorporates dance, theater and recorded text to depict police-involved shootings that have made local and national news. The work addresses social justice and reform in an effort to help communities engage in constructive dialogue, as a means of understanding and healing. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with the audience and special guests. Please be advised that this performance is intended for mature audiences—some viewers may find the subject matter upsetting or disturbing, especially for children.
